FJ Fernández Jove on the Escotillon IV Project for ASMAR

At FJ Fernández Jove, we are proud to share our latest success story in the Escotillón IV project, carried out in collaboration with ASMAR (Shipyards and Maestranzas of the Chilean Navy). This large-scale and significant project for the Chilean Navy has once again allowed us to demonstrate our capability and commitment to excellence in the naval sector.

Collaboration with ASMAR

The Escotillón IV project aims to modernize and improve the deployment capabilities of the Chilean Navy through the construction and equipping of multipurpose vessels. For this important project, ASMAR selected FJ | Fernández Jove as a key supplier due to our experience and prestige in the sector. This collaboration not only highlights the trust ASMAR has placed in us but also our ability to meet the project’s demanding standards and technical requirements.

Supply and Manufacture of Advanced Systems

As part of the Escotillón IV project, we have supplied and manufactured motorized valves under our SAVAL brand, including butterfly, ball, globe, and gate valves. These valves are equipped with actuators from our partners at AUMA, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability in their operation. Additionally, we developed and manufactured the control system for these motorized valves, consisting of 10 control cabinets. These systems are essential to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the multipurpose vessels, providing precise and reliable control in all operating conditions.

Innovation in Sealing Systems

A crucial aspect of the project has been the implementation of MCT sealing systems for cables and pipes from our Hawke Transit System brand. These systems are fundamental in maintaining integrity and safety in vessel operation, protecting critical components from adverse maritime environmental effects. The quality and reliability of our sealing products ensure that Chilean Navy vessels operate with maximum safety and efficiency.

The Value of International Collaboration

This project not only stands out for the quality of the products and solutions provided but also for the close collaboration between FJ | Fernández Jove and ASMAR, as well as the participation of the Spanish industry in the development of advanced defense technologies. Chile has highlighted the capability of the Spanish military industry as a key defense supplier, reflecting the quality and reliability of our work. The commissioning and functional tests were conducted at ASMAR’s facilities in Talcahuano, demonstrating our commitment and ability to work on highly complex and technically demanding projects.

Impact and Future of the Project

The collaboration with ASMAR on the Escotillón IV project underscores our position as leaders in the naval industry and our ability to provide comprehensive and customized solutions that meet our clients’ specific needs. This success showcases the potential of the Spanish military industry as a key defense supplier, capable of competing and excelling internationally. We are committed to continuing to innovate and collaborate on projects that drive the development and modernization of the naval industry.

The Escotillón IV project is a testament to FJ | Fernández Jove’s commitment to excellence and innovation in naval engineering. We thank ASMAR for the trust placed in us and reaffirm our commitment to remaining a key partner in developing advanced solutions.
