The Logistics and coastal fishing Vessel for Colombia and Guatemala is already under construction at the Shipyards of the Corporation of Science and Technology for the Development of the Naval, Maritime and River Industry (COTECMAR) in Cartagena, Colombia.
This project originated from the remarkable success of the BL-1601 “QUETZAL” vessel, which operates since its owner, the Guatemalan Navy, handed it over to the President of the Government of Guatemala at the end of 2019. FJ participated in this great project through the supply and commissioning of various hydraulic systems of its own manufacture for both drive and control of the bow ramp, together with other services that have continued being provided to the ship, such as support throughout its life cycle.
The role of the QUETZAL vessel is to offer support in humanitarian aid operations, disaster assistance and hospital care to the civilian population of that country. It has actually become a benchmark for the national defense of the State.
